Laser Engraving, Cutting, and metal marking

More versatile than router engravers or milling machines, our CO2 laser engraver can quickly and easily customize wooden objects and products, engrave glasses or ceramic cups, etch on stone or plastic, mark coated metal plates, print on fabric and leather, and so much more!

We employ the precision of the Epilog© Mini-Helix™ Laser System. Our laser machine can cut wood, paper, plastic, fabric, foam, and much more with such high precision and speed, giving lasers a clear advantage over other types of cutting technologies. Our graphic designers can now create your vision for the laser cutting machine as simply as a color printer.

CO2 laser machines can directly mark a variety of coated metals such as anodized aluminum or powder coated stainless steel. However, bare metals reflect the wavelength of a CO2 laser, meaning bare metals like titanium or nickel plating must be pre-treated with a metal marking compound prior to engraving. We simply apply the marking solution, allow it to dry, and then perform the engraving as normal. The heat from the laser bonds the solution to the metal, resulting in a permanent black, silver, or sparkle-type mark from our CO2 laser machine.

Our laser system can customize everyday products creating unique, one-of-a-kind items that mean something greater. Personalizing awards, picture frames, phone cases, guitars, or any other object can turn a nice gift into the perfect gift.

A picture is worth a thousand words, and a photo engraving is worth a thousand more! Let us engrave your photos and memories on rich mahogany or natural pine - the perfect way to capture memories.

The possibilities are endless when you enlist CGS for woodworking projects. Whether you're developing products, working on hobby projects, or prototyping new designs, our laser system can help you create faster and with higher quality. All it takes is a little imagination and an CGS!

Wood Cutting and Engraving

Wood cutting and engraving are two of the most popular applications we provide because they can encompass so many different projects. From Christmas ornaments to service plaques to puzzles and games, our laser cutting & engraving system can give your wood project the special look you imagine. Our CO2 laser system can engrave amazingly intricate images working with hardwoods, veneers, inlays, mdf, plywood, walnut, alder, or cherry. Some of our specialties include plaques & recognition awards, Christmas ornaments, signage, jewelry, home decor, cutting boards & beverage coasters. Metal Engraving and Marking

Laser Engraving: Our CO2 laser system can engrave treated metals (such as painted stainless steel, anodized aluminum, etc.) in which the laser cuts into the treated surface to reveal the underlying metal. Add high quality designs and personalization to popular tech items like laptops, music players, and more. Powder-coated bottles and tumblers are super popular right now and they laser engrave beautifully, too!

Laser Marking: Many bare metals can be engraved with our CO2 laser when a marking compound is used. Certain types of metals like aluminum, brass and chrome can be marked without the use of a metal marking compound. Whether you're engraving treated metal or marking bare metal, contact us to ensure your engraved metal project meets the high quality standard you deserve.

Acrylic Cutting and Engraving

Whether you refer to it as acrylic, PMMA, plexi or some other name, one thing is certain: laser cutting and engraving works beautifully on acrylic. So much so that it can be difficult to stick with alternative processing technologies like routering or sawing. Common uses include: commercial signage, personalized trophies & awards, 3D puzzles, keychains, magnets, LED edge lit panels, & more.

Glass Engraving and Etching

Laser engraving glass is more in demand than ever! From promotional gifts to awards to wedding favors and beyond, glass engraving has never been easier than with CGS. Our CO2 laser system employs a rotary stabilizer to allow for 360° etching of cylindrical items such as bottles and glasses with the same precision and quality seen on flat surfaces like frames or glass awards. Laser etching on glass produces the stunning, sophisticated, one-of-a-kind look you are seeking. Leather Cutting and Engraving

Laser Engraving Leather: Leather is an exceptionally popular material to laser engrave and cut for a variety of reasons. Raw leather sheets and premade leather products are relatively affordable, extremely durable, and have a high value, especially when they are personalized! The process of engraving or etching leather results in a debossed effect and, depending on the surface of the leather, produces a noticeable and clean contrast. Light-colored leathers produce significant color contrast, whereas engraving darker leathers results in a more subtle contrast. If you need a dynamic color contrast, go with a tan, beige, or light brown leather.

  • There are four primary kinds of leather:
  • • Full-grain leather - highest quality
  • • Top grain leather - second highest quality
  • • Corrected grain (bottom/cut split leather) - also known as “genuine leather”
  • • Bonded leather - lowest quality, made up of leftovers of the hide

Laser Cutting Leather: There are several benefits to laser cutting leather. First, the laser provides sealed cuts that won’t fray or otherwise deteriorate. Secondly, unlike manual leather cutting tools such as utility knives and rotary cutters, cutting leather with a laser is incredibly fast, precise, and perhaps most importantly, consistent. Additionally, cutting with the laser eliminates warping that can sometimes happen with hand tools.

Because leather is so abundant and versatile, the possibilities of what we can cut/engrave are almost endless! Some popular leather projects to consider include leather hat patches, jewelry, journals, beverage coasters, wallets, bookmarks & more. Considering a custom leather project? Stone, Marble, and Granite Engraving

Laser engraving is a great way to personalize items made of stone, granite, or marble. Your personal message etched in stone makes a sentimental gift or keepsake that can last a lifetime. Our laser engraver can even create detailed photos and graphics on stone. Natural types of stone such as granite, marble, and slate produce the best results.

When laser engraving on granite, the surface of the polished stone is removed by the laser beam resulting in high quality artwork. Granite lends itself beautifully to high-resolution photo etching, commemorative building plaques, garden stones, pet memorials, and more. Marble generally has a very fine texture and is suitable for engraving photos or detailed text. The color range of marble is one of its benefits. Beautiful and rich colors like Jet Black, Green, Rose and White make marble popular with many customers. Slate produces a very nice contrast when engraved, which makes it very popular for etching. When customized with the laser, the dark slate produces a white/grey contrast that really pops! Ceramic tiles engrave beautifully and can even be colored. Engraved ceramic tiles are great for customizing a back splash, creating a memorial or photo engraving, and more. This hand-painted, engraved clay potmakes the perfect gift for any plant-lover!
